Objective: Sink the H/F Hydro Ferry that contained the Remaining Heavy Water bound for Germany
After the air raids on the plant, the Germans decided to move heavy water production to Germany. Remaining heavy water barrels and production equipment were transported on the H/F Hydro. The team was given the duty to destroy the ferry Hydro that was used by the Germans to transport barrels of heavy water. The leader of the group being Knut Haukelid.
On February 9th, the shipment of heavy water arrived at Lake Tinn by railroad, and was loaded onto the ferry. That night three men, including Haukelid, disguised as workmen arrived with a nine-ten pound time bomb. Haukelid and one other man planted the bomb on the boat while the other man stayed watch outside. They escaped unnoticed by the Germans. The next day when the boat was over the deepest part of Lake Tinn the bomb exploded, sinking the ship with the heavy water contents within minutes.
